Lampuga Air Jetboard - Start of delivery

August 2020

The joy about the successful sales and delivery start is clearly visible in the managing director and owner Nicolai Weisenburger. "Finally we can start", says Nicolai Weisenburger, who, despite unforeseen delays in favour of product optimisation, has always stuck to his quality and safety philosophy: "Our product should give the customer the greatest possible pleasure on the water, but also guarantee the highest possible safety".

After a three-year development period, the Lampuga Air entered the European market in August. The company plans to initially enter the European market and has started series production in Rastatt. With the gradual development of further markets outside Europe, up to 2,000 units of the inflatable model are planned annually.
"The last months before the start of production and delivery have been turbulent and unpredictable, not least due to the corona epidemic," says Managing Director Alexander Pick.

"Negotiated sales and business models of our distribution partners in the key tourism markets, above all in the Mediterranean region, were severely affected by the great uncertainty caused by travel warnings and bans. Now, however, the strong desire of many holidaymakers to enjoy the freedom of the sea and to avoid crowds of people on beaches, in restaurants or bars is evident. The boat & charter industry benefits from this, and our product is also becoming even more attractive to this target group".

In the water sports sector, Lampuga has become a well-known manufacturer & supplier. Although comparable products are available, the South German manufacturer scores points with the practical construction as well as the easy transport and operation of the Lampuga Air, which makes it particularly user-friendly. Alexander Pick is convinced that the jetboard will be well received:

"Products made in Germany stand for quality and precision. Combined with first-class riding fun on the water, easy handling and attractive design, we meet exactly the requirements that are decisive in this industry for a broad target group".

Since the company was founded in 2017, the location in Rastatt near Baden-Baden has been consistently developed into a modern and sustainable production facility for electrically powered surfboards. With the completion of the production hall in the following year, the foundation stone was laid for an integrated structure at the company's own location, which includes development and production as well as marketing and sales.

Next Coup: The Lampuga Rescue

As a fast and robust board, the Lampuga Rescue offers practical and valuable support in water rescue. The inflatable jetboard is designed for easy handling and can be steered effortlessly. In an emergency, the board can be launched quickly and reach the person in distress in the shortest possible time. The inflatable fuselage of the jetboard provides a safe wing and at the same time minimizes the risk of injury to persons in the water compared to a hull made of hard materials. Thanks to the jet drive and its low draught, the board can be used even in shallow waters. The Lampuga Rescue is equipped with a variety of handles, has a non-slip base and allows for the transport of rescue equipment.
